It's good to have goals!
When I was much younger I told myself 'one day you'll have Hallmark card... ' Over the decades I can't guess as to how many cards I've created and sent, as well as painting and cartooning cards have always been an enjoyable, quick way to express drawings to share with others in hope of brightening anothers day - every now & then I'll see someone & they'll say "Remember that card you made me... (chances are I don't) I still have it!" Hearing this repeatedly encouraged me to always send 'only original' cards - with continued hopes that they won't end up in a landfill, this has nothing to do with them being 'my cards'- I just don't think we should be tossing as much garbage as we do. In future posts I'll share a few ideas on how to recycle printed cards! So, when I noticed Hallmark Canada had a contest a few years back - I of course entered & was chosen as one of the winners! Yippie! Paid a nice sum & there was my Hallmark Scruffy card on the shelf - it was an exciting day when my son & I went in to Hallmark & spied my card, inspired by our own dog who had just been spayed. I have two Hallmark cards actually, I entered the contest twice. That was several years ago - I hope they didn't end up in a landfill.. lol My Scruffy card was such a success Hallmark contacted me to ask for permission to print more! I said yes. A a kid, my goal was to be a full -time artist when I grew up - so it's good to have goals. Make Em & Break Em! Twice if you can. Make Goals, Dream big - why not! You might end up surpassing your goals. I have some still yet to concur- how about you? I added new cards today! Can you find them? Forever grateful for this memory. Georgia
